March 2027 may be the busiest festival month of the year for Indian brands. Maha Shivratri, Women’s Day, Eid ul-Fitr and Holi all fall within about two weeks of each other, and the financial year closes at the end of the month. Teams that start on 1 March will spend the whole month catching up.
Here are the March 2027 events and important days worth planning for, with notes on how to handle the crowded middle of the month.
March 2027 dates at a glance
Saturday 6 March is Maha Shivratri. Monday 8 March is International Women’s Day. Wednesday 10 March is the expected date of Eid ul-Fitr (provisional, depends on the moon sighting). Monday 15 March is World Consumer Rights Day.
Holika Dahan falls on Sunday 21 March and Rangwali Holi on Monday 22 March, which is also World Water Day. Saturday 20 March is World Sparrow Day and International Day of Happiness. Tuesday 23 March is Shaheed Diwas, remembering Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Good Friday falls on 26 March, World Theatre Day on 27 March and Easter on 28 March. Wednesday 31 March is the last day of the financial year.
Earlier in the month, Wednesday 3 March is World Wildlife Day, and Monday 8 March is also Somvati Amavasya.
Holi 2027 is the big selling moment
The Holi 2027 date gives brands a long weekend, since Holika Dahan is on Sunday and colour play on Monday. Sweet shops (gujiya, namkeen, thandai), colour and pichkari sellers, clothing stores with white kurtas, restaurants, farmhouses and party venues all have a real selling window from about 10 March.
Run a hero offer with a clear order deadline, such as “Gujiya boxes, orders close 19 March”. Shoot fresh product content in the first week of March. Post the festive greeting on the morning of 22 March, and a safety or skin-care tip on the day before if your brand fits.
Eid ul-Fitr and the end of Ramadan
If Eid falls on 10 March as expected, the last ten days of Ramadan run in late February and early March. Bakeries, sweet shops, apparel stores, mehendi artists and restaurants serving iftar should keep their Ramadan offers going until the moon is sighted, then switch to Eid greetings and family feast menus.
Prepare two versions of the Eid creative in case the date moves by a day.
Women’s Day, done with care
International Women’s Day on 8 March is a greeting day that brands often get wrong. A discount on pink products is not a tribute. Better ideas include featuring the women on your team, sharing a story of a woman customer or supplier, or announcing something real, like a women-only workshop or a scholarship.
Keep it genuine and specific, and it will be shared.
Maha Shivratri and the start of the month
Maha Shivratri on 6 March is an important greeting day across North India, and a selling day for sweet shops (fasting snacks, thandai) and puja stores. Keep the creative devotional and simple.
Financial year end for B2B brands
For B2B companies, manufacturers, CA firms and anyone selling to businesses, the last two weeks of March are about year-end orders, budgets and renewals. A short “before 31 March” campaign on LinkedIn and WhatsApp can close deals that would otherwise slip into April.
Plan March alongside our February 2027 events list on this blog, since the Ramadan and wedding season content runs across both months.
A posting plan for the crowded middle of March
With Women’s Day, Eid and Holi landing within two weeks, the risk is a feed that becomes nothing but greetings. Plan one selling post between each pair of festival posts, so customers still see your products and offers.
A simple pattern looks like this. Shivratri greeting on 6 March, Women’s Day story on 8 March, Eid greeting on the confirmed day, Holi offer posts from 12 to 19 March, Holi greeting on 22 March, and a “year-end thank you” on 31 March. Design all of these in one batch in February and the busiest month of the year becomes the calmest one for your team.
